Team Arctic Challengers win the 2009 Thunderbird Rally

A last minute replacement for teammates Paul and Kala who had a conflict brought long time ralliest Steve Richards and Gary Reid into the fold. As is the protocol for the T-Bird, teams are asked to include a Novice on their teams and so we asked Spencer Devivo and David Black of BC to join us.
Team Arctic Challengers Results:
1st in Paper Class Steve Perret and Kathryn Hansen Subaru Impreza wagon
1st in Calculator Class: Steve Richards and Gary Reid Subaru Impreza wagon
4th in Unlimited Class: Glenn Wallace and R.Dale Kraushaar Subaru Forester XT
5th in Novice Class: Spencer Devivo and David Black Subaru WRX
It was a hard fought battle up front as Glenn and R.Dale were tied with 3 others at the Saturday night halt with 2 penalty points. Sunday proved to be a little more challenging for both drivers and navigators and the team of Satch Carlson and Russ Kraushaar driving an ancient Saab Sonnett captured first o/a and 1st Historic with a score of 6. Glenn and R.Dale slipped to 5th with 11 points.
Several other awards were presented at the awards banquet including the 2008 Pacific Coast Challenge trophies. Our teammates Steve and Kathryn took home the overall victory for the 2nd time in as many years. Congratulations to them!
R.Dale Kraushaar received his trophy for 3rd navigator in the 2008 British Columbia TSD Championship.
